COVID-19 update additional case

Dear parents/guardians

As you are aware, Dubbo West Public School is currently non-operational for the on-site attendance of staff and visitors.

The NSW Department of Education and NSW Health have been working closely to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff is maintained.

We have been advised of an additional confirmed case of COVID-19 in a student at our school. In conjunction with NSW Health we are now requesting that all staff and students be tested and isolate for 14 days.

NSW Health will be contacting each of our families directly and will confirm their self-isolation period and answer any questions that you may have regarding your child/children.

If you have not already done so, please get your child/children tested as soon as possible, regardless of whether they have symptoms. If your child/children tests negative, they still need to remain in isolation until the 14-day isolation period finishes.

You can find your nearest COVID-19 testing clinic here.

We understand that in some families it may be difficult to isolate children from other family members. Anyone who is unable to isolate from your child will need to self-isolate for the same period as your child. NSW Health will discuss this with you further.

Advice and resources are available on the NSW Health website including a COVID-19 close contact factsheetadvice on isolation for parents and carers and further information about COVID-19.

We would like to thank you for your understanding during this time.
